This photo of me and Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of the leading crypto exchange Binance.com, was taken in Singapore in 2018.
Two years later, our product GT Protocol - became an authorized broker of Binance.
At the time of our first meeting, I met CZ at a blockchain event. Before meeting him, I had assumed that the founder of the world's leading crypto exchange would be an inaccessible person. I thought that speaking to him would be as difficult as arranging a meeting with the President of the White House.
However, when I saw him at the event, I decided to try my luck and started talking to him. To my surprise, he was very open. Despite being a billionaire, owner of the biggest crypto company, and one of the most influential people in the crypto market, he had zero ego. He was polite, attentive to details, and even a little bit shy. He shared his personal WeChat with me, and he even supported me with a retweet of my tweet when I asked him for it. He was very supportive.
The story behind CZ
His personal story is also very powerful. Before he launched Binance, he sold his house and invested his money in cryptocurrency. His actions were just a live example of his belief in the technology. For him, it wasn’t a gambling game, but it was obvious that blockchain would disrupt the financial system. He was absolutely sure about the investment.
If you understand how our world system works right now and how blockchain can change it by bringing real freedom and transparency all around the planet, you would take the same decision in CZ's place too (that is why I believe it is very important to improve worldwide crypto education).
I believe that the crypto market needs more open-minded people like CZ. I am not a big fan of centralized crypto exchanges and do not always support the way they do business, but CZ is a person who has already contributed a lot to this market and to the adoption of cryptocurrency.
I hope that one day I will interview him about his journey, his perception of life and the future perspective of Binance, blockchain and AI.
CZ's perception of life.
By the way, CZ believes that there is a very high chance that we live in a simulation.
This opinion is also shared by Elon Musk.
CZ even wrote an article about it and explained how this perception of life affects relationships inside the team and the way Binance passes through difficulties in their business.
I support him in this belief as I personally believe that we really live in some kind of divine matrix. I will share more details about this in one of my future posts.
